Growing stronger every day!

Snowboarding at Bansko

with 8 comments

After snowboarding at Bansko this week I have a couple of notes. First, I need still to improve a lot! Okay, this one was known… I made my first jump today. I should had try this one earlier. It wasn’t that hard. Although I got a good landing the first time the other three times I tried out, the landing was ass-made!?! However, it’s not that hard. You must jump and not let the board go by it self, then you need to keep the front side of the board up, to be sure that you’ll land with the tail first.

The first day I did very very strong and fast slalom. The second day, I was fucked up, my quadriceps were burning while snowboarding, the tracks we chose were even harder and more muscle-dependant. So the third day I stayed at the hotel in order to get some rest. The fourth day, which is today, I made a few good things but I was not able to repeat the slalom with the ease of the first day. My muscles couldn’t deal with strong brakes and I couldn’t keep a stable rhythm. I was speeding up and down all the time, which means that I had to brake brutally many times, in order to avoid crashing with others or getting too much speed (for me to handle). However, I managed to do my first “high” jump with success, with a moderated speed! The feeling was amazing. I have to do that again as soon as possible! I was avoiding jumps because I wanted to improve my jibbing techniques first, but it was a mistake. I have the skill to do this and it’s something that I like a lot! Taking jumps on the run.

I don’t know if and when I’ll have the chance to go snowboarding again, but I hope to go anytime soon. I’ll start going at the gym from tomorrow in order to get fit. Even if the snowboarding season ended for me, I hope not but you never know (Fucking Army!), I’ll prepare myself for this summer. I’ll take Kite Surfing classes.
